Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wrote to President Arif Alvi on Wednesday night calling for the dissolution of the National Assembly three days before the completion of its constitutional five-year term. The dissolution allows the caretaker government, which is still to be set up, to oversee the next general election within 90 days; that is, by November.
