PM Modi on Monday announced free Covid-19 vaccination for those above 18 from June 21 and said the Centre was reverting to procuring shots for distribution to states and UTs even as 25% of domestic production will remain available to private hospitals with a service charge cap of Rs 150 per jab. “The states will not have to spend a single penny for the vaccines,” Modi said in his second address to the nation this year and ninth since the pandemic struck.
